Chris Byar Student Emergency Fund Matching Gift Challenge

The Sauk Valley College Foundation is proud to announce a pledge that will match all gifts to the College’s Chris Byar Student Emergency Fund up to $5,000. The generous and timely gift is the result of a commitment by members of the board of trustees, the Sauk Valley College Foundation board of directors, college administration, faculty and staff. The Leadership Group recognized the unprecedented need for emergency funds and hopes to inspire other parents, alumni and friends.

“The level of need and the challenges faced by some of our students are great. The community’s response to our Leadership Group’s matching gift challenge will help us help our students during the COVID-19 crisis,” says SVCC president, Dave Hellmich.

The Chris Byar Student Emergency Fund helps students pay for necessities such as gas to travel back and forth to work, utilities and childcare. The fund will also provide technology for remote learning such as loaner laptops, software and internet hotspots for students without internet access.
